This eBook could easily have been titled "How to Speak with Persuasion and Conviction". In the eBook by Lilyan Wilder you are walked you through many exercises that will help you to relax, breathe, experience your voice and speak from the diaphragm in order to build self confidence in your own voice. The seven steps that she refers to are common sense for most people: Experience Your Voice; Get A Response And Structure Your Thoughts; Establish A Dialogue; Tap Your Creativity; Learn To Persuade; Achieve Your Higher Objective; and Give The Gift Of Your Conviction. In my opinion it would be helpful for those who are already comfortable in front of groups as well as those who just want to improve their techniques.(DM)

"Favorite Recipes from Friends Across the Nation" by Marguerite Graves (Adobe eBook)
Submitted by informationcentral on Tue, 03/04/2008 - 22:06.
As an avid cook book reader, I knew this was going to be an exceptional experience when I was promised that each recipe would be a "gustatory delight to be relished and remembered." Copyrighted in 1952, this book offers "an exchange of recipes from friends across the nation." The idea for the book arose from a discussion which took place at a luncheon during a REALTORS® Convention. Mrs. Graves' goal was to collect at least one recipe from each of the 48 states. It was a goal she reached, plus she received recipes from Hawaii and Alaska as well! All of the contributions in the book are from REALTORS® or REALTORS®' wives and each entry is accompanied by an outline of the state of the contributor and the nickname of the state. Recipes are organized into sixteen categories: Appetizers; Beverages; Breads, Muffins and Rolls; Candies, Cakes and Cookies; Casseroles; Desserts; Jams, Jellies, Pickles, Preserves; Meats, Poultry, Cheese; Pies; Salads; Sauces and Dressings; Seafood; Soups; Vegetables; Men's Concoctions; and Quickies. There is also an abundance of interesting food facts, tips and suggestions. There are quite a few recipes that I will definitely be trying, however I don't think I will be bringing the "Beef Tongue in the Casserole" to my table any time soon!(KW)
"For Women Only: Tips for Effective Marketing" by Michael J. Hughes (OverDrive Audio Book)
Submitted by informationcentral on Tue, 03/04/2008 - 22:04.
In this 36-minute audio book, Michael Hughes sheds light on his personal observations and experiences in gender-based networking. Basically, networking is a skill-based activity and the differences in gender issues (i.e. the way men and women preceive things differently or act upon things differently) impacts the success of networking efforts. He points out the differences in the way men and women react in both social and business settings. He also shares that the secret for networking success in women is to focus on relationships rather than revenue. The greatest strength that women have is that they are natural relationship builders. Seven networking success strategies are presented, as well as three steps to creating a networking action plan. During the session, Cristi Cook, president of Majority Marketing, calls in and reinforces the information presented by Michael Hughes. This is a fast-paced audio book, however, the listener should be cautioned that there is a bit of background noise taking place throughout the recording.(KW)
